Via Francigena

This year I have spent more time in Switzerland visiting places along the Via Francigena pilgrimage route. Do read my Swiss Via Francigena story about the seven places where Sigeric rested on his journey home from Rome to Canterbury in 990. A similar story is also on the official Via Francigena website.

The most exciting visit was at Grand St-Bernard Pass Hostel for a 20 year celebration of the opening of pilgrim pathways linking Canterbury with Rome.  There is an account of this in my photojournal section and also on the Via Francigena official website.
