Art Classes

Carol’s cottage Art Classes are underway for 2021! This year, we have some exciting new art courses and workshops.

We are offering regular classes either following the school terms or on a weekly basis. These classes are designed to develop drawing skills, and to understand composition and colour theory. For drawing you will gain expertise in using a variety of media and surfaces. For painting you will be introduced to watercolour and oil painting techniques. Classes take place both in our studio in Frenchs Forest or on local Sydney plein air sketch walks.

In addition to regular classes we are offering day long workshops at times to be arranged. Day long workshops make it possible to work more intensively on subject matter. This is applicable for portraiture and figurative work, sketch walks or plein air oil painting.

Plus, we will continue to offer seasonal crafts designed to make our homes beautiful for special occasions like Christmas, Easter or Australia Day!

Art Classes

In 2021 we are offering both Beginner and Intermediate level classes. Beginner classes are designed as an introduction to drawing materials and techniques, composition and colour theory and to introduce watercolour and oil painting techniques. Intermediate classes aim to further develop these skills and arrive at a personal painting style.

Here are some examples of our seasonal craft workshops. These are Australia Day centrepieces! Throughout the year we offer creative workshops designed to make your home beautiful with centrepieces or wreaths.

Sketch Walks

Sketch Walks take place on the second Wednesday of each month. These walks will require some drawing experience. Ink and wash is the most suitable medium for sketch walks. We will visit a variety of local walking trails to sketch local wildflowers and landscape. Further details are available on request.
